English made Sand Cast Solid Brass hardware paired with the beautifully rugged heavyweight Baker’s English Oak Bark Tanned Bridle Leather places the No.14 FIREMANS FRIEND as a true workwear classic. 100% handmade in East Sussex with British materials, this is as good as it gets. Worn by construction and railroad workers as although they are sure and sturdy, in a fix they can be quickly undone with one hand.

Oak Bark Leather: 

Our English Oak Bark Leather comes from world class tannery J & FJ Baker’s that only use hides from home-grown livestock on free-to-range farms. The leather is Full Grain meaning it may have natural imperfections, crease marks, small scars etc. as the finish is not ‘artificially corrected’ giving this beautiful leather its glorious, heritage patina. Each piece is truly unique and shows the animal had a real life outdoors.

Due to the all natural Oak Bark tanning process leather thicknesses and tone can vary from batch to batch. Most hides measure between 4-5mm.

Note: All goods are handmade to order in small batches by one maker and require at least a 1 week turnaround.
